I just did a search for the song Feliz Navidad on iTunes. Below this entry was the results from my search. So why do you ask am I, Susie Quinn doing a search for the song Feliz Navidad on the last day of January. Well of course for the kid. He has been asking me since Christmas to listen to Feliz Navidad. I just never got around to doing it in December. So now I am trying to make it up to him. No, I am not planning to download every version there is of this song. That would definitely send me to the loony bin. Yesterday on the way to school, he asked he once again to listen to this song. In fact, he also asked me why didn’t they play the song on the radio anymore. LOL! I had to explain to him that fortunately for our sanity, they only play holiday music during the holidays. That makes sense right? So ya, I thought I would make it up to him and download a few versions of this song. I am planning to play it all day long for him, just so it will get the song out of his system.

Oh, yes and I downloaded this ultra sleek skin yesterday. I still need to remove that weird logo on the upper left side and make a fun header graphic. I hope to get to that sometime over the weekend or by next week.

On my to do list today, is to take a picture of me. I was really excited at the beginning of the year to take a picture of me everyday of the year for Project 365. But unfortunately, I am unable to keep up doing this everyday. It is really actually quite difficult to take of picture of myself every single day. I can take pictures of my kiddos every second, but of me. It is such a task. I do admit that it is neat so far to see the pictures next to each other. I will try again, but I can’t promise that it will happen everyday. I think that I will continue to keep track and will title the pictures with the date and then at the end, I will make up the ones that I missed.

Also, I have to fill in and send out my absent ballot, fill out the Scholastic book order for Brennan, and also fill out a huge stack of paper work from my brother dental office from Brennan’s last visit there. He filled a filling for Brennan. We don’t have to pay any of the co-pay, but I need to fill the paper work, so that he will get paid from our insurance.

Anyways, I am starting to ramble now.

I’ve been trying to change to a new skin since last year, but just never got around to changing it up. The one that I had up there, has been there since summer. In the meantime, this one will stay for a little bit, until I get something that suits me. It is one of my old favorite pictures of Elden’s yummy feetsies. Gotta love the feet.

Both Elden and I have been sick this week. Mostly a horrid yacking cough and plugged up and runny nose, although Elden most definitely caught a bad flu of some sort. Yesterday, he slept off and on all day long, and he has had a fever that kept spiking up and down. Also, he had no appetite, which is so unusual for him. He’s my kids that pretty much will eat everything and then some. Thankfully, today he is much better, but I am still taking him to the doctors today, just to make sure that there is no infection that built up in his lungs. He ate part of my mushroom and greens omelette, as well as some oatmeal.

Brennan did have a small form of what Elden had last week, but it mostly just a cough, although I did keep him from school last Thursday and Friday.

So what else has been going one here. This and that. Stuff that I don’t feel the need to write about here. Oh, ya I forgot to mention the other day when I went to pick Brennan up from school, I peeked in through the window on the back door. First I saw him sort of wondering around for a few seconds. My first thought was, uh, he is avoiding cleaning up again. It looked like they were in the middle of clean up. Then I saw him walk over to two girls carrying a chair over to the tables. I see that the girls gave him the chair, he continues to bring over to the table himself. I asked him about it after, and he said that he went over to ask if the girls needed help. Little things like that, just simply blow my mind away. Also, whenever we are in an elevator, he also holds the door open for people going in and out. For all the little bad things that he does (not that he does many bad things), he certainly evens it out by doing all these kind gestures, little things, but actually they are grand things. Things that will shape him to grow up to be a gentleman when he grows up.

It’s been raining here in sunny Cali. It is definitely a welcome rain. We so need the rain. We do have two parties this weekend, and I’m not sure what is going on for tomorrow, since that one is outside. I hope that the rain lets up for the weekend and that it will be nice and sunny because it has been a while since I have been able to take nice outside photos of the boys.

Also, my reference class started this week. I really need to focus on this class because reference is an extremely important skill to have no matter what area of librarianship one specializes in. Here is the description for this class, if you are interested in knowing what it is about.

LIBR 210. Reference and Information Services

A process-oriented examination of how information professionals answer reference questions. The interpersonal skills required for effective question negotiation and the sources with which questions are answered are stressed.

I am also working on a social networking software platform, sort of like a Facebook or Myspace to be launched soon. Also, I got the opportunity to work on another Second Life project for the American Library Association. I am looking forward to the social networking to be launched because then I can create a blog there for all my professional library work, instead of writing it here.

Off to get the kid ready for school. I do finally plan to update the skin on this blog here, finally!!! It’s been the same for so long, but I finally downloaded a couple of skins that I can work with. Happy Friday!

He’s not such a little baby anymore. I can’t believe that he is 5. It just happened so quickly. He woke up on his birthday, which was this past Sunday, on January 13, saying that he wanted to take a shower by himself, brush his teeth by himself, drive a car by himself. Okay, not driving a car, but basically he had this list of things that he wanted to do by himself, since he turned 5.

His party was at the local bowling alley. There were about 18 kids, plus about 4 more siblings. Everyone had a total blast, including the parents. I was still a bit stressed, but not as much as I would have been, if I had to organize and coordinate it myself. They had two assistants that basically did everything, including serving the food, and cutting the cake. He also got to take an actual bowling pin home, with his friends’ signature on it. I had time to mingle with everyone and of course take a bazillion amount of pictures. I would highly recommend a bowling party for 5 years old. Not any age younger though.

I just realized that I don’t have any pictures of him actually throwing the ball. Thankfully, I captured it on this video.

Now that the hustle and bustle is over from the holidays, you would think that things would start to calm down. My eldest is turning 5 in about a week, but thankfully I don’t have to do too much prep for the party. We decided on having it at a local bowling alley, 1) because I don’t want to do too much preparation (which I just mentioned), and 2) because it was best to have it inside because you never know what the weather will be like in mid January.

Brennan had a week and a half off from school, so the time off sort of just zoomed past.

I have been working on some projects the last few weeks, which have been keeping busy and also keeps me from doing other fun stuff, like playing with polymer clay. The work I am doing is actually quite fun, so I am not complaining. And getting paid is a good thing too.

As far as polymer clay stuff, I’ve been in the talks with my bro who does lots of ebay selling of trading cards for the past several years, about selling a few simple bracelets, specifically focusing on guys. This would just be an experiment of sorts, just to see what types of things would sell. I know I talked about opening a full site of stuff, but honestly I really can’t produce at such mass production at this time. Also, I enjoy the long drawn out process of creating quality items. So anyhow, that’s that.

Go Obama, I think! I am still sort of on the fence. I know I never every talk about politics, but heck I don’t think I can really keep from talking about it, eh! I will try to write more about my thoughts at some soonish time. I really don’t like to talk about politics, not because I’m not interested in it, it’s just because I am not the most eloquent when it comes to stuff like that. It’s just not my expertise in life. So now you know why. On the other hand, I can so talk about crafting all day long though, or something like how to defrag your computer.

We are going to shop for a new oven in a little bit. We so need one in here. Actually, we are finally planning to move this year, so we will need to upgrade this place.
