I’ve been up all night long, not so fervently trying to finish my annotated bibliography assignment. I just finished two cups of joe, and I have only done two out of the five so far. Uh, uh, uh! Yesterday, we had some interesting happenings in our personal circle (is that vague or what?), which essentially left me with even less time to do my work. So it looks like I will have to work on it during vacation. Uh! Other than that, I am looking forward to being surrounded by all of nature’s beauty and spending some much needed time with the familia.
This blog has definitely not been on high on my priority list for the past month. In fact, I think that I have forgotten how to write in these kind of freeform, say what you sort of want to say mode, randomness type of writing. My brain is overrun by finding aids, Second Life, Web/Library 2.0, Archives, differences in EAD, MARC, etc., etc., etc. I think I am getting to the point, where my brain is ready to shut down though. I am definitely looking forward to our yearly trip to Yosemite.
My wonderful hubby turned the big 40 today. He took the day off and spent it with us. We didn’t do anything really special. He just wanted to spend the day with us, is all. We dropped Brennan off at school. He was so cute because he kept telling everyone that it was his daddy’s birthday today. He is doing really well, by the way. He did have some issues early on, but he is now doing really well. He even has a best friend there now, which I think has helped him a lot to adjust. So after dropping Brennan off, we then went to the Y to exercise, while Elden stayed at the daycare. We even played some one-on-one basketball. I was going to make him some brownies, but we ended going out to our favorite family restaurant – Sizzlers.
I made him this lovely canvas made up with moo cards.

Lots of lovely layers of red and gold paint, then stamped with the lovely hearts stamps by YanKiwi. And of course, I couldn’t forget the rickrack.
Here are also a couple of layouts from last month, since I haven’t anything else for this past month.
Hearts GWO, hearts, textures, and words stamps from YanKiwi.

I painted an apple. It actually looks more like a peach, but I was trying to go for the color of the apple that they were bobbing for. I definitely need to brush up on my painting skills. It has been awhile, since I last painted. The lovely GWO Botanical buttons are from YanKiwi. Also, the letters were stamped with some texture swamps by YanKiwi..

It is horrendous with all these fires. It saddens me that so many people have lost their homes. We are not directly affected by the fires, other than the horrible air. It really sucks. My heart goes out to those people.
