My mom is totally clean of all cancer. This is just wonderful news for all of us. At the end of her appointment yesterday, the Dr. told my parent’s to go and enjoy their life! Now that is some really good news.
Okay, that was freaking lame. I just deleted my entire entry.
Thanks Robyn for tagging me and sorry it took me so long.
1. I haven’t scrapped since February.
2. I love sushi and cheese, but not together of course.
3. I was on the varsity tennis team my sophmore year in highschool.
4. I am an extremely unorganized person, probably not a strong point if I am planning to be a librarian.
5. I love, love rickrack. If you have any extras that you don’t want, please send them over my way.
6. I can’t wait to have my own craft room, when we move in about a year and a half, so I can spread my mess all over in there, and lock myself inside.
7. I take a lot of my personality attributes from my father.
Now who to tag? Hmm… I will have to get back to this later.
Gosh, I didn’t realize that I haven’t updated here in over two weeks. Ever since that other cable company took over our old cable company, we have been having TERRIBLE Internet service. I don’t even bother to call the company because they just suck ass, and I don’t have time to sit on a phone for an hour. Hopefully, they will get their act together soon. For the most part, I haven’t really spent much time on the computer anyways. Family life has been taking precidence over everything these days. I think the only other thing that I try to work on at least once a day is on claywork.
I discovered a fun and very enlightening podcast titled “Craftcast with Allison Lee“. I basically loaded her entire feed into my tiny shuffle, although the entire year does not fit on it. She interviews artists involved in various crafts. I discovered her podcast when I was doing a search for polymer clay. It is actually really thought-provoking and very inspiring.
I recently borrowed out the entire collection of polymer clay books from two of our local libraries. My favorite of them all is “The Art of Polymer Clay” by Donna Kato. There is such a wealth of information in it. Here is also a link to her personal website as well.
My mom has a dr. appt today to see if any cancer spread other than what was removed from her colon previously. I previously thought that they there was no cancer, but they did end up finding some very tiny cancer cells in one of the four sections that was removed. I am not sure if they have to first run some more tests today. I really have absolutely no clue. It is difficult to see such a strong and healthy person have to to go through something like this.
I woke up this morning as usual around 3:30, expecting that Elden would wake up for his usual 4 a.m. feeding.  I was surprise that he didn’t wake up until 7 a.m. You don’t now how excited that makes me feel. Well maybe you do. I am sure you do know how that feels if you have kids. Let’s hope that he continues on this way. Â
He is 22 months now, which was around the time that I cut Brennan off from the boob. I still haven’t decided if I will go the cold-turkey route with him, but I am getting close to it. Mostly because if I lay down on the couch to relax for just a moment, he will usually climb on top of me wanting to breastfeed. Speaking of breastfeeding, he just brought over a stool, and climbed up to the chair that I was sitting on and attempted to zip my jacket down.  I had to turn him away, since it was lunchtime and he was probably starving at the time. I asked him if he wanted to eat leftover ham and mama (that is what he call rice).
Speaking of ham, we never did have Easter dinner at my parent’s house yesterday because Brennan came down with a cold the day before and we opted to stay home because we didn’t want to spread his germs everywhere. My mom is still recovering from her surgery, and is doing quite excellently. Pretty soon she will be back to hiking and her usual golfing. We just didn’t want her to catch it just in case. The big boy is doing fine today, so we will be having a late Easter dinner. I brought over some eggs for the boys to decorate later today, but they are too busy playing with Grandma, playing with magnets, and singing Old MacDonald. I wish I had a video camera with me.
Oh ya, I forgot about the title of this entry, which is “Freckles and Moles” because of the freckles and moles that Brennan is quickly growing on his face and body.  I noticed his first mole on his butt when he was just a little wee one. Then after that, he started sprouting them all over his body.  He probably has about a dozen of them. About the time he turend 3, I noticed that he had these adorable freckles on his nose. They are very light, and you actually have to look at him really closely to see them. I also noticed some freckles on his cheeks as well. He gets the moles from my side of the family. I also have a ”beauty mark” in the area between my nose and cheekbone. My neck and the rest of my body are completely littered with moles. My mom keeps telling me that I should get some of them removed. But I say, this what I was given, so why mess with myself. Well of course, except for a boob lift. Anyways, that is for another entry.
Den on the other hand is completely covered in freckles, which he said that he started getting them when he was around Brennan’s age. I do have freckles on my nose, not as nearly as much as Den. I am sure curious to see how much more freckles and moles Brennan will grow. I don’t see any moles or freckles on Elden yet, but he is still young yet.
On a sidenote, I received an email from the hubby that we are going to Sequoia at the end of this month. I haven’t been there since I was a kid. I do have vague memories of being able to stand inside a huge tree. LOL!Â
Thanks to everyone and anyone who has read my blog over the years. I am fast approaching my 8th year of owning this url. I haven’t been blogging since then, but I have had quinntillion.com for a long time now. Things have definitely changed on the way that I view this online home of mine. I’ve met some really interesting characters online. Some very odd people that I just don’t get, and of course some really cool and some highly creative people. My mother hates that I blog, but why the heck do I care what she thinks. There are a few people that read me that I know in real life, which I find somewhat neat, and oddly creepy as well. I definitely go through feelings of wanting to close this url, but in the end I always renew it. I like that the idea of having this little place to write little things.  This is also my connection to learning about new technology. The way that we know blogging and as a whole of the Internet and searching is quickly changing and reinventing itself. I am also part of a field that is going through some really exciting times, that I am happy to be a part of. That is the main reason that I have decided to continue on here. I do know that I want to somehow make some changes here, but I am not sure what direction I will be going, or if I will be taking any direction at all.
Okay, enough of my blathering, which of course doesn’t really matter to you all. I am off to watch the first episode of the last season of the Sopranos on my Archos 404, and to hopefully get some belated egg decorating done.
Â
I’ve been playing. Here is a sampling of my polymer clays that I have been working on for the past month and a half. This is so seriously addicting. I have a few not so great finished products and ideas that I have been playing with, but not quite so ready to post to the internet.

The canes are glued onto an app. 5×30 inch woodboard. I am looking forward to filling up this woodboard and looking back my progress in the coming year.

This is my first hydrangea cane. It didn’t turn out too bad.
