It looks like the first female space tourist, Anousheh Ansari has returned home. I better think up my next big business plan, to make the $25 million that it will cost me to travel to space. Or I could save $1 a day. It will only take me 25 million years. Or I could wait until Virgin finishes building their prototype spaceship then I will only have to spend $200,000.

So Brennan has been sharing this joke that Den taught him to everyone. He shared it to his classmates on Wednesday, during sharing time.
Knock, knock! Who’s there? Banana who? Knock, knock? Who’s there? Banana who? Knock, knock? Who’s there? Orange who? Orange you glad that I didn’t Banana!

It was so cute. His teacher was totally confused though because after everytime he said Knock, knock, she thought he was only supposed to say the Knock, knock, once and then say the answer it. Then that would have been the end of the knock. You know, like a typical Knock, knock joke! Not that I know any. LOL! But he said the Banana part five times, before he finally got to the orange part. After he was done, I had to explain to the teacher how the joke was supposed to go, and that she wasn’t supposed to interrupt him. The whole thing was really funny!

He told the joke to my brother, Mike on the phone yesterday, as well as to my mom on the phone. The phone calls were on separate phone calls though. I guess he realized after the classroom incident that he needed to shorten it. He told the Banana line twice to my brother and then only once to my mother.

Anyways, it is neat to see that he definitely has a sense of humor. I am looking forward to hearing more jokes from him.

I finally caught my first cold of the season. It is mainly a runny nose. I started feeling congested shortly after I got into bed yesterday. I caught it from Den, who caught it Brennan. So far, I don’t think Elden has or had it. Knock on wood! They both had a cough, as well as a slight runny nose. Den said that he also had a headache. I hope that my cold doesn’t materialize to anything bigger.

So as far as this weekend goes, we don’t have anything big planned. Just some studying and church on Sunday. Next weekend is the last weekend of the L.A. County Fair, but it doesn’t look like we will be going. It’s too long of a drive and too much trouble to go. Besides I wouldn’t want to be tempted by all the deep fried foods, like

deep-fried Twinkies, deep-friend Oreos, deep-fried avocados, deep-fried pickles, and deep-fried olives (the common denominator being fried in a vat of oil.)

Tons of people lined up for these things (not the people in my family, who were quickly whisked away by my wife), buying them by the greasy, greasy handful.

The guy who invented the deep-fried Twinkie sold an amazing 35,000 of them at the Orange County, Fresno County and L.A. County fairs the first year he sold them, according to an LA Times article.

Most disturbing? The Krispy Kreme Chicken and Swiss Sandwich with a side of honey.

I kid you not.

I did not get the Porkchop on a Stick, but only because their outfits weren’t as cool as the folks at Hot Dog on a Stick.

I took pictures just so you wouldn’t think I was making this stuff up.

During my last semester in college (1995), I had my internship at the Los Angeles Unfied School district in their personnel and training offices. This was pre internet, btw. Anyways, Suzette was one of my wonderful co-workers that I met working there. After I left, we probably got together a couple of times. The last time was probably in 1998, when we went to a Styx and Journey concert. After, we lost touch of each other. Apperently, she was trying to reach me a few years later, and someone told her that I had a website. She somehow found some gaming website, which was not my site, but one that was totally unrelated to me. She posted a mesage, thinking that this Susie was me, saying to get in contact with her. So then a few months ago, which was probably about 4 years after this incident, I did a totally random search for my name, and this gaming website came up. I immediately recognized her email. I got in contact with her. This was totally random, and I probably would have never got in contact with her because I had no clue where she was. She actually looks younger than she did 11 years ago.

We had lunch at Chan Dara. For appetizers, we had the Calimari Chardonney. I also enjoyed a nice thai coffee and I had the Red Noodle (Pad See Eaw) , which was flat rice noodles with black bean sauce, broccoli, bean sprouts, and chicken. I forgot to take a picture because it was so good that I dug right into it without thinking to take a product shot.

I finally am getting my scrapping mojo back! Although, I have been regularly creating something, I haven’t really feeling the groove.  You know what I mean?  I am currently working on something that really just feels right, designwise.  So far all the pieces just flows with each other. So I am pretty happy about that.

School has been great for Brennan. I can’t believe how well he is doing there. His behavior is so different from last year. I guess he is really starting to fit the 4 year old profile now, which I am really loving.  He is much more calmer, more complient, and not so out of hand.  It is also nice to have two days of the week to decompress. That is supposed to be the plan, but for the last couple times, I end up going to the library to work on my assignments for my class.  It’s all good though.  Elden usually naps a couple hours during this time.  This works perfectly more me. Anyways, I gotta get going now, so I will leave you with probably more layouts than you want to see. These are just a handful layouts that I have been working on the last couple months.

This was supposed to be written for Tuesday, but I did not get a chance to blog.

It was the first day to drop off Brennan to school, and quite honestly, I was pretty happy to see him off. There were no tears from either of us. Drop off is from 12:15 until 2:45, which leaves Elden and I enough time to take a nice walk along the MB Strand. This is my plan for the year, that is to drop Brennan off to school and then taking Elden on a walk, so he could nap and then I can get in some exercise.

I think this school year for Brennan will bring on many changes for him in a good way. I am thankful that we can do this. I know some people can not afford this opportunity. I should definitely be more thankful for the things we have, instead of complaining about things that we don’t have.

So anyways, along the walk we stopped at the pier. It was nice to do a little people watching as well. After, I walked back onto the Strand. I saw these beautiful flowers, particularly these orange ones, which I dedicate to my hubby.

Without him working, I wouldn’t get to stay home with my kids, and even afford preschool for Brennan. It’s been four years since I decided to be a SAHM. It’s been quite a ride, with some many changes in our lives. But I do think that I will be returning to work in some capacity next year, hopefully in the library field, although, I still have several years to complete my MLIS.
Here are a few more pictures from our day.

This Buhda guy really brightened my day, as I started my walk down to the strand.

Elden wanted to get out to play in Brennan’s school playground after his long 2 and half hour nap.

When I went to pick him up, they were playing Simon Says, which happens to be one of Brennan’s favorite games right now. His favorite game right now is Hide and Go Seek, which he makes me play him everyday. It is nice to see him playing these games with his classmates instead. I am looking forward to seeing him bloom and change in the next year. He has changes quite a bit in the last few months. No longer is he the frenetic little toddler. He is becoming his person and morphing into this big boy.
