Little Elden is practically one week old. I can’t believe it. He is totally an amazing little guy. He’s a breastfeeding champion! Most definitely a poop machinet! And he sleeps like a big bag of potatoes. He pretty much only cries when he gets his diaper changed, and of course when he is hungry. I fondly remember the yellowy, mustardy, seedy poops. They are such a pleasant contrast to Brennan stinky poops. LOL!
Elden really resembles Brennan when he was a newborn. The only major difference is that he is smaller, his nose actually points down, whereas Brennan’s was pointing up. Also, Brennan had tons of baby acne and you could see a vein running across his nose and another big one on the side of this forehead. Elden has practically flawless skin and his head is not as mishapen. The difference must be because of the difference in labor between the two. But they are both beautiful of course.
As far my recovery, I am doing wonderful as well. I am ready to get outside, but I think I should wait a couple more weeks. Well, unless I totally get stir crazy. Dennis is an awesome husband like usual. He’s been pretty much been taking care of Brennan and cooking dinners. Actually, he is more tired than I am and really, I don’t feel like I have lost any sleep at all. Another thing to look forward to, is that the wonderful ladies at my local mom’s club will be taking turns bringing dinner for the next couple of weeks. How cool is that?
Brennan loves kissing and hugging Elden, but he somewhat smothers him a bit too roughly. For the first couple of days, he’s been wanting to get Elden to cry. When we are breastfeeding in bed, he tries to lie in between us. But overall, he is a great big brother. It’s been more tiring trying to control him than tending to Elden. He is just so darn active.
Right now I am sitting with Elden wrapped in my Rebozo sling. When Brennan was born, I went on a total sling fest. I bought a Rebozo, Ellaroo wrap, Ellaroo sling , and a KKAFP, and of course that popular, but terrible front carrier (den likes that one). Oh ya, I also have a korean podegi, and a korean style backpack. I don’t have links for those unfortunately. So as you can see, I have quite a collection. I think my favorite sling is the rebozo because it is very thin and the material is quite beautiful. I bought the Ellaroo sling when Brennan was a bit older. I tried carrying Elden in it, but he doesn’t like it too well, and actually I am not too fond of it either. It has a huge pocket for big babies, but I think it is a bit big for newborns. Maybe, I am not carrying him correctly.
This is now later on in the evening. I wasn’t able to finish this earlier. So we still have to give Elden his first sponge bath. We’ve just haven’t had the chance. Hopefully, tomorrow sometime. Now that all my boys are sleeping, I have to figure out my outgoing email problem, why my fricken printer has been printing shittily, and decide what photo to use for the baby announcements.

I can’t believe that we have been married for 10 years. I would truly die without him. We have been through some rough times, but it has mainly been a wonderful marriage. Now we have two gorgeous boys that complete us. Can life get any better than this? This is definitely true happiness.

I am happy to announce that we had a baby boy! His name is Elden Leroy.
He was born on his due date, July 25, 2005 at 2:28 a.m. He weighed in 8.5 pounds, a whole pound lighter than his big bro. His length is measured at 20 1/2 inches.
Okay, so for the details. As you know when we left off, Sunday I was most agitated and annoyed that the contractions didn’t start. Well, that evening after dinner, I suddenly started have stronger contractions, nothing painful, but enough to go oh. Probably a half hour or so later, I asked Den to take me to the hospital. It was about 9:00 or so. We called my mom to come on over. After checking me over at the hospital, they said I was at 4 cm and 80% effaced. I was thinking wow, how did that happen so quickly? So then Den left with Brennan to wait for my mom. Around 10 of so, they checked me and I was at 5-6 cm. I started getting stronger contractions, and since I am a wimp when it comes to pain, I asked them to give me an epidural before it got to much for me to bear. I think around 10:30 or so, Den came back to the hospital.
It was pretty much smooth sailing afterwards. I got to 10 cm. around 2:15 a.m or so. The doctor came around that time. I pushed for about 2-3 minutes and actually after 3 pushes, Elden came out. For some reason, I was laughing and cracking jokes in my Susie style. I guess I thought it was funny how fast and easy it was. I only had a couple of skid marks down there, so not too much damage.
I stayed for the full 48 hours and just came home earlier today. All three of my boys are sleeping right now. I’ve decided to open up the comments. Thanks everyone for the well wishes!:)

Seriously, I think I considering going to the hospital early and staying for a few weeks longer than I should. Brennan is just driving me absolutely crazy. This fucking waiting is making me lose it and the little brat is making a mess. He dumped all his blocks down the stairs after we took the time to clean them up. He doesn’t pick up anything. I know I am in a different state of mind right now, so my patience is wearing very thin. I don’t know how much longer I can wait. Arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
I took this in one of those photo booths in the mall, but the only thing was that I took the picture with my camera. Who wants to pay $5.00.

This morning I was able to stamp up a bunch of dominos in black staz on, as I am impatiently wait for my contractions.
I do have contractions, but it mainly tightening and it doesn’t really feel like they are getting any more painful at this point. I really don’t know what to expect. I pretty much forgot what it was like with Brennan. Well, I do remember waking up early in the morning and feeling contractions, but I don’t remember how intense they were before we left to the hospital. I think I was barely dialated at one cm., so I don’t think the pain was that bad. I found out that I have a low pain threshhold, but this time I am planning to wait until the pain is a little bit more intense before we head off. That will also give my mom some time to get over here.
But anyways, I am planning make the most of time while in labor. I am going to paint the stamped up dominos with my Luminarte Primary Pigments . BTW, altered dominos is my latest artistic obsession, since attending the last stamping expo. Also, I will be reading the rest of Harry Potter. I figure, once I’m hooked up to my epidural, I will have some time on my hands, unless my labor goes by quickly. I was trying to convince Den to let me borrow his laptop, since the hospital has wireless internet connection. He obviously thought I was being ridiculous. There are internet kiosks set up in the waiting room, so maybe if I get a chance, I will be able to blog there.
Oh well, more updates coming, unless I go into labor. Twiddle thumbs.
Since yesterday, my mucous plug has been starting to come out. It is mostly chunky snots, definitely not a whole big glob. I guess it’s been helping that we’ve been going swimming. And I am sort of walking around. The weather has been warm this week, so I really don’t want to walk around outside. I am hoping that I will start contracting very soon. I am hating all this waiting. I wonder how much mucous stuff is supposed to come out. Oh well, please throw me some “open” baby thoughts and that I won’t have to wait too long.
