So we have been teaching Brennan to try talk in more complete sentences. For the most part he talks in phrases. Lately, he has been adding please to the end of this phrases, particularly when he asks for something. For example, he says “Mommy please more celery please”. Or “Clifford please”. Or if we have him wearing his big boy spongebob underwear, he’ll ask for “diaper, diaper, please!!!” He really doesn’t like wearing his underwear, but we’ve been having him wear it in the morning and evening. He’ll usually end up taking them off after about 15 minutes. Anyways, it makes me so happy that he says please. I can’t refuse his requests because it is so hard to say no to such a sweet polite kid.

He is developing so much and so quickly. Another big thing he has been doing in the last month is singing to songs. It can be kids songs, the songs that we listen to, pretty anything he will sing to. He doesn’t know all the words and its cute when he uses some of the wrong words. Like with his Leappad doll. It sings the alphabet song. The beginning goes “Some letters are round and curvy, and some our straight and tall…”, but he will say, “Letters are turkey…” And also with the pizza song, it goes “I like pizza, from tomatoes, pepperoni… Actually, I don’t know all the words either, but instead of those words, he will say “I like pizza, pepperitos”. It puts a smile on my face everytime. Usually, when we make the long trip to my parent’s house, he will just sit back and listen to Den’s music and sing along. When I turn around to watch him, he will usually give me this shy smile and turn his head to the side. It is like he is slightly embarrassed. It is just so sweet.

Everything about this boy is so sweet. He is really such a nice kid. For the most part, he is well behaved. He does have his moments and he actually has a bit of a temper, particularly when someone tries to take a toy he is playing with away from him. For example, we were at the water park the other day. He was playing with this pushing toy. Some younger kid came up to him to try to take it from him. I wasn’t really looking, but Brennan pushed this kid into the bushes. The mom was already there and I didn’t realize what happened until I heard crying. I apologized to the mom and promptly took the toy away from Brennan and gave him timeout at a tree and then I told him that we were leaving the park for his behavior. I think he got the point. But for the most part, that is the biggest problem we’ve been having with him. He is still really learning the concept of sharing.

We also just started this new play class and have only attended three sessions thus far. The first thing he gravitates to is this cute riding boat. It is a popular toy with all the kids and so other kids try to ride it while he is still on it. So when another kid tried to get on the boat, he clings onto to it like no tomorrow and would yell out “mine”! I kept emphasizing that he needs to share. I know sharing can be difficult for a 2 and half year old to do. I think he is slowly getting the concept down. Of course, if he hasn’t playing with a particulary toy too long and another kid tries to take it away from him, I tell the other kid to wait his turn. I mean it is only fair.

Anyways, I am glad that we signed up for this class. I wasn’t going to sign up for any activities during the summer, but it is working out so far. He also loves singing the songs in class and participating in all the body motions. He also loves playing in the playroom. After song time, we switch to this other room, where it is just up sort of like a my gym or gymboree. In the last class session he was looking for the balance beam. I was surprised because I thought he wanted to ride the boat first.

But I would have to say that his favorite part of the class is when all the kids line up against the wall on the otherside of the room and then the adults chant out “One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go”. All the kids run across the room into the arms of awaiting moms and dads. He looks so excited and happy when he runs into my arms. I give him a great big hug and fat kiss. He loves this game so much, that he could probably do it like 20 times. They only do it 3 times. But is ’s hilarious because after the 3rd time, he will line back at the wall, and will have this smirk on his face, just waiting for us to chant it out again. Can’t you just picture his cuteness?

Well, I can go on and on about my adorable baby boy, who is just growing so fast, but I have a long day ahead of me because Den comes home late on Thursdays and it’s only 4:15 in the a.m. I have few things to finish up here and then I think I will try to go back to sleep for awhile.

It was a pretty lazy today for us. Other than being lazy today, I had my 36 week wellness appointment. Baby bubbles is healthy. But I did test positive for the Group B Strep Infection (GBS). So during labor I have to be fed penicillin through an IV, so to prevent any sort of risk of phenomia to baby bubbles. Kind of scary, yes, but luckily with antibiotics the risk of baby bubbles getting GBS is 1 and 4000.

I can’t believe I am the 8th month. It sure flew by fast. Here are the stats: My weight was 194, up another 4 pounds. Arhh! BP is at 120/70. Fundal height is 36. And baby bubbles heartrate is at 144. So now, I start seeing the dr. every week. Official countdown starts now. Wee!!!

1. Waking up at 11:00 a.m. with my boy sleeping in my arms
2. Feeling the slow movements of my son’s breath on my cheek (even if was a little stinky)
3. Feeling little kicks and movements of my unborn child
4. Watching my baby sleeping

It was so nice to sleep in real late because I normally wake up super early. It was just pure pleasure to watch Brennan. One of his eyes was partially open and part of his top lip was tucked into his bottom lip. It was all squishy and he had some crust on his mouth and eyes. But he was so adorable. He was really tired since he didn’t nap yesterday. I think it is time for me to slow down my days, since there only a month left till baby bubbles becomes part of our outside world. Lately, we have been so active in all our going on. I just want to think inward, to contemplate the happiness and joy in our life. Our 10 year anniversery is in exactly 30 days. So there is a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to.

Oh I’m completely stuffed now.

but I’ve decided to have the Breyers extra creamy vanilla ice cream drizzled with melted nutella.

You gotta download hello. Do it now. It’s way too much fun!

Brennan finally wore his big boy spongebob underwear. He only wore it for about 15 minutes because he had to go pee and it was quite near bedtime. He does have a wet diaper in the morning, so I don’t think we want to risk him sleeping in underwear quite yet. For the longest time, it has been a challenge to get him to wear his underwear. He had just refused to wear it. It is like he is deathly scared of it. As far as his him going pee on a reguarly basis, he only goes at home lately and usually in the morning and in the evening, and if he doesn’t have his diaper on during the day. I think because he has his diaper on when we are out and about, he figures that he doesn’t have to worry about it and just lets it go freely. I really think that it is time that we step it up the potty training a bit. I will see if he wants to wear his underwear today. He does very well with going pee by himself. He doesn’t even ask us to help him. He just goes upstairs and does his business, then empties his potty into the big toilet, and flushes it. Unfortunately, he isn’t quite ready to go number two in the toilet. His thing is to go to the downstairs bathroom and close the door and go. So I guess at least he knows that he should be in the bathroom when he takes his dump. But other than that I really don’t know how to get him to go poopoo in the toilet.
