In the past couple weeks, Brennan has been attempting to say the alphabets. He doesn’t really stay the letters in order or anything, in fact, he mostly says C and D. But we will catch him trying to read something, whether it be some writing on his car seat, or the words on a window in a store. It is quite interesting to see. My mom was going over the alphabet with him yesterday, and he was actually repeating a few of the letters. I really do want him to attempt to talk more though. He does say some random words, but hasn’t yet started to add a huge amount of words to his repetoire yet. I know that I have nothing to worry about. At 22 months, he is sure a smart kid.

Brennan is such a clown. He has this sarcastic laugh. He doesn’t use it all the time. But it is hilarious. But in general he can be quite the joker. In general, he is a happy kid. I do notice that he really isn’t into big loud crowds. For example, in parenting class this past Wednesday, all the kids dressed up. I didn’t dress Brennan up, but had him wear his “Monster in Training” shirt. But we had the kids parade to this bench to sit on so the parent’s could take pictures. It was this really small space, with all the kids and parent’s crowding around. I tried to sit Brennan on the bench, but he just got up and stood at the other side, near the gate, basically away from everyone. I didn’t try to move him, but just let him do his thing. Our parenting teacher told us particularly during music time, if you see that your kid isn’t really participating, don’t force them. Or if they are running and jumping around, then don’t try to calm them, let them do their thing. Our teacher, was saying by observing during this activity gives you a huge glimpse of what their personality is really like. Brennan is a bit shy at first, but after a few minutes of observing his surroundings, to make sure things are safe, he will then participate. He loves the music time. He dances, and does all the hand motions. He enjoys music. We introduced him to several instruments, like the guitar, drums, harmonica, horns, bells, etc. early on. I think right on his favorite song on my mini i-pod is Every Breath You Take, by Henry Mancini and the Police. It is a mixture of two songs. Brennan has to hear this song over and over again. Anyways, I think I lost the original point to what I was trying to say. Oh well!

Yesterday, we took him to a pumpkin patch finally. With Den’s schedule we couldn’t do it during the week. It was a pumpkin patch near my parent’s house. I normally drop him off at his office, so he can work on his various things, like his thesis. Here is a picture for you to enjoy.

I will put some pictures into my gallery when I get a chance.

Now, I gotta go iron dry my recent papers that I made.

Whenever I use those online direction tools, the resulting directions turn out so weird. Like this morning, I was checking for directions to the Halloween party that we are going to tonight, it tells me to turn on these two streets that I have no clue where they are to turn onto this main street. So for instance, I usually go on street A to reach street B, but on the directions, it tells me to go to street A, then turn right on street C, then turn left on street D, and then turn right on street B. How fucking confusing it that? In fact, whenever I look up directions, I end up getting lost because it is so confusing. Maybe, it is just me.

I just got finished deleted over a 100 spam. It is just annoying, it is. Last week I updated Windows XP and then after that, the computer was hanging for 30 seconds and was really slow. Then I updated VirusScan, but didn’t realize that it resulted in a conflict with the Norton AntiVirus. Which I have read on the some of the tech messageboards that you shouldn’t run both programs at the same time. Which I guess makes sense. Which all resulted in spyware and such. This morning things seem to be running better, so lets hope for the best.

I am absolutely loving the rain that we have been having this past week. I think the last time it rained was like in April or something. We really do need the rain. Not only that, but it is such a comforting, calming sound. It makes me want to curl up with my hubby and child in front of the fireplace. But it is still a bit too warm for that. Brennan had his first taste with rain yesterday. Okay, it was more of a sprinkle. After we came home yesterday, he wanted to see the Halloween decorations in front of our neighbor’s house. As he ran over, there was a light sprinkle that was just starting. He was like “00h”. He says that when he likes something. Anyways, he started to jump a bit because he noticed the ground was wet. He loves jumping in puddles, as all kids do. He looked up to see the rain falling down.

Oh, another good thing about it raining is that possibly the waterfulls up in Yosemite will be running, and in time for our trip this Saturday. We will be staying at the Yosemite Lodge.

Last but not least, here are some pictures from our trip last year for you to enjoy.

That was fun!

I really hate allergies. I know I need to make an Dr. Appt. to see an allergist or something. At least once a month, I have a bad case. Uhh…

My little baby, I mean big toddler is 21 months. How did that happen so fast? He will be 2 in January. I just can’t believe it. We will be in Waikiki Beach, Oahu staying at the Sheraton, Waikiki for his birthday. Not particularly for his birthday, but is sure a great reason to be there. Den is presenting a paper for a symposium. I don’t know if we should have a birthday party, since we will be gone for his birthday. Maybe have it the week after. Not sure yet.

He is developing quite rapidly in all aspects. He is running around, jumping, climbing all sorts of ladders. and he is starting to mimic some more words. I was a bit concerned because I wasn’t sure if he was developing fast in the talking department. He definitely understands about 99.9% of what we say to him. It is so adorable when he mimics something. I love his little voice. I really should write down the words he says. Add that onto my to do list, I guess.

Whenever he goes to the bathroom, he sniffs and points to his diaper. We haven’t really started potty training because I think he is still too young. There is a mom that we know that is training her 23 month old, but she has to drag this portable potty with them wherever they go. She is constantly asking him do you need to go? He does wear underwears, but does still has accidents. There is this other mom that we know that claimed that they potty trained at 10 months. She said that she could tell that her kid had to go because he was grunting and all that, so she would quickly pull his diaper off and sit him on the toilet. He is now almost two and I asked her, how is potty training going? She replied saying that he got sick, so it set him back. So do you think he is potty trained yet? NOT!!! I am not sure if kids at this age can be totally potty trained. Do I want to constantly chase my kid around with toilet, asking him do you need to go, do you need to go? Or even chance having accidents. I don’t like cleaning dirty diapers as it is, do you think I want to clean poop off cotton diapers? I don’t think so.

Okay, let me get off my rant rave now.

He is really great at following directions. He loves sweeping, or at least pretend to sweep. Whenever we go to Target, he grabs a mop or broom and will be busy forever. He does the same thing at my parent’s house. He is more interested in cats, than dogs. For some reason, it takes him a little longer to warm up to dogs. But he goes all nuts when he sees a cat, especially when we are on the strand, if he sees a cat he will practically chase it down. My parents have a Korean Jindo dog. He is not trained, and is leashed up all day. So whenever it sees a human being, it jumps all crazy. Brennan doesn’t like that much when the dog jumps all over him. So maybe that is why he isn’t too keen on dogs. My brother has a cat, which Brennan loves to pet and say “meow” or making sniffing noises with. Actually, that is what he did whenever we asked him what sound does a cat make? He sniffed because that is what my brother’s cat would do. What a funny kid he is. He really can be a clown sometimes. He squints his eyes and makes a funny face when you say where is the sun. In general, he is quite a little goofball. Like I said, he is developing in so many ways. I am sure that I haven’t covered all of his latest developments, but this is turning into quite an essay.

Oh ya, Den asked me to drop his shirts off to the cleaners tomorrow. So this is my reminder. I have to remind myself of things like this because last time I forgot. Bad wife, I know. I try.
